How we handle this work
01Integrations drive the cost
Not the language. If a brief lists five external systems, that is usually a bigger cost centre than the core application, and we price it that way.
02Data migration is its own workstream
Existing data is messy and full of cases nobody documented. Treating migration as a footnote is the most reliable way to blow a timeline.
03Tests where they earn their keep
Automated tests on the logic you will keep extending. Not a coverage target for its own sake, which bills hours without reducing risk.
04Deployable by someone else
A system only one person can deploy is a liability you inherit at handover. Runbook and environment documentation are part of delivery.
